WWE: Reconstructing The Wyatt Family on Smackdown

facebooktwitterreddit

There is promise in the midst of the Bray Wyatt vs. Randy Orton feud, but perhaps there’s no better time than to bring the Wyatt Family back together again.

The WWE Brand Extension of 2016 seems to have birthed some new trends.  One of those trends consists of new faces taking over the company while another is second chances for Superstars.  Various Superstars such as Dolph Ziggler and The Miz have reaped the benefits of the brand extension despite its flaws.  Smackdown has really stepped up their game given they have fewer Superstars to work with.  However, it works in their favor overall, and may do so for a potential reforming of The Wyatt Family.

With the rumors of Luke Harper being cleared to return to the ring, it presents the opportunity to breathe new life into The Wyatt family should WWE place him on Smackdown.  As of this writing, Harper has remained undrafted.  Wyatt and Erick Rowan have shown solidarity in the feud with Orton.  Imagine if Wyatt was playing his usual mind game with Orton, only to have Harper attack out of nowhere.  Harper’s return would start off with a bang should he be signed to the blue brand.

How Orton Comes into Play

Orton could be the key to getting The Wyatt Family to where they should have been all along.  Orton also has been known to put talent over.  It would certainly be a big deal if Wyatt were to win this feud.  But if the Wyatt Family continues to go down the same path pre-extension, then what was the purpose to begin with?  This is not even including Harper at the moment.  The addition of Harper, assuming he’s on Smackdown, would add to the feud and prolong the program.  Orton/Wyatt has the potential to become a main focus on Smackdown next to the WWE World Championship picture.

There is plenty of substance with this feud, with Wyatt staying ahead of the former WWE Champion.  Orton posed the idea of not to underestimate him, driving Wyatt to outsmart him with his mind games.  Could we see a series of bouts between Orton and The Wyatt Family that can potentially lead to Survivor Series?  It’s way too early to tell whether it could turn into a traditional Survivor Series match.  At first thought, it is highly unlikely that will happen.  What could Orton and Wyatt both do next after their program is over?  That is hard to tell right now as well.  Where Harper will go is still up in the air.

What The Wyatt Family Can Work with

The Wyatts possess an intimidating demeaning and pose a threat.  They have all the tools to follow the footsteps of similar predecessors such as The Brood.  The Wyatts don’t necessarily have to reach extreme measures, but the theatrics are there.  Even without Harper, Rowan is the perfect sidekick for Wyatt.  His size works with the intimidation the group holds against their opponents.

When the group branched off two years ago, it was the wrong move at that time.  Perhaps a more successful run would help them in the long run when they split up once more.  It will be only so long before fans grow tired of Wyatt not following through with his masterful dialogue.  It makes no sense for Wyatt to talk a good game but can’t back it up when it’s time to throw down in the squared circle.

The Wyatt Family, with or without Luke Harper, must be taken seriously this time around.  We are at a good start with back and forth attacks from both Wyatt and Orton.  Everything is there for The Wyatt Family to succeed in this new era for WWE.  Either way, Smackdown is the place to be for second comings, second chances and opportunities that are reaping rewards.    The Wyatt Family should be on that list too.
