Cody Rhodes Returning to The CW’s ‘Arrow’ for Second Appearance

Wrestling star Cody Rhodes will make his return to The CW program, “Arrow.”

Since leaving the WWE in May 2016, Cody Rhodes has taken to the outside pro wrestling industry and appeared all over the place. This includes appearances in New Japan Pro Wrestling, Ring of Honor and TNA. It also saw him become a member of Bullet Club, which he represents on NJPW and ROH.

Outside of this, Rhodes played a role on The CW’s Arrow, acting as a villain, named Derek Sampson. He appeared on Season 5, Episode 3 as a drug-dealer who produced “Stardust,” an obvious play toward his old WWE persona.

Well, Rhodes is returning to the cable TV screen. IGN announced that he’ll appear on Season 5, Episode 21 for Arrow, which will air in either April or May. It’s unknown what he’ll do in this episode.

The  Arrow  appearances go back to when the show’s lead actor, Stephen Amell, wrestled a match for WWE’s SummerSlam 2015 pay-per-view. Amell teamed with Neville to face Rhodes (under the Stardust name) and Wade Barrett. The former two won the match, which had the 35-year-old have a better-than-expected showing, given that celebrities who previously competed in the WWE ring didn’t “wow,” for obvious reasons.

It should be entertaining to see Rhodes and Amell appear on  Arrow  again. They could fight like they did near the beginning of the season, and potentially work something important into the show’s storylines later this spring. Maybe there will even be action included that leads to a third appearance on The CW’s hit show.
