5 Best Moments of Chris Jericho’s Current WWE Run

3. Is That Sin Cara?
For better or for worse, Chris Jericho is no stranger to breaking kayfabe. Sometimes it’s quite obvious, like the infamous Luke Harper Fan Club photo. Other times it’s a necessary thing for his Talk Is Jericho podcast. And still other times, it’s pretty subtle. That’s where this example falls on the spectrum.

After joining forces with Kevin Owens, Jericho spent much of his time doing everything in his power to help KO win. More often than not, the assistance came at the expense of Seth Rollins. Rollins felt entitled to the Universal Championship, but Triple H had basically handed the title to Owens – and Jericho was there for his best friend.
When KO had retained the title numerous times thanks to Jericho’s interference, Raw General Manager Mick Foley finally had enough. The night after Survivor Series, Owens would face Rollins, and Jericho would be banned from ringside. In a no disqualification match. Surely, things would be on the up and up, right?
Near the end of the match, what appeared to be Sin Cara came through the crowd and attacked Rollins at ringside. After a brief scuffle, the attacker was pulled over the barricade, and Rollins ripped the assailant’s mask off – revealing Jericho. The momentary distraction was enough to allow Owens time to recover enough to win the match.
How does this break kayfabe, you ask? Well, a few weeks earlier, Sin Cara and Jericho were reported to have fought on a tour bus in England. Why they fought, who won, and the like are still only speculation, but the fact remains that it happened. And Jericho had the guts – and backstage clout, apparently – to poke fun at it on national TV a few weeks later.
