Predicting Kevin Owens’ Post-WWE WrestleMania 33 Direction

Kevin Owens is one of the best things going on Raw right now. What should his place on the card be following WrestleMania?

Kevin Owens had a tremendous 2016 in WWE. And so far, 2017 is shaping up to be even better for the Prizefighter. Even in defeat at WWE Fastlane, Owens somehow managed to prove to the WWE Universe just how good he is.

With WrestleMania 33 around the corner, Owens has a big match scheduled against his former best friend. No, not Sami Zayn – this time, he’ll be taking on Chris Jericho. Their big bout at “KO-Mania 2” is a United States Championship match.

When that match is over – when WrestleMania is over – what should happen with Kevin Owens? The longest reigning Universal Champion in history should get thrust into major storylines following The Ultimate Thrill Ride.

With the Universal Championship likely being absent from Raw for some time following WrestleMania 33, what does that leave for Owens? It’s possible he defeats Jericho to win the United States Championship, a title that has eluded him thus far. And if the Universal Championship is sitting in a Minnesota farm house between Mania and SummerSlam, the US Title becomes the default top prize on Raw.

There are signs in place that Owens is part of a loose alliance with Triple H and Samoa Joe. KO and Joe have teamed together, and both men have explicitly acknowledged their relationship with Triple H. It’s possible that the group becomes a more concrete faction, running roughshod over Raw. Superstars like Seth Rollins, Sami Zayn, and even Finn Balor could make up the united front to stand against the menace. And that could shape the direction of storylines and feuds between WrestleMania and SummerSlam.

Regardless of how it exactly plays out, the fact is Kevin Owens deserves to be the top heel on Raw following WrestleMania 33. He’s got the speaking ability to make himself sound like a credible threat, and the vicious in-ring ability to back it up. Honestly, all KO needs is the opportunity to carry the show, and he’ll deliver.
