1. Roman Reigns vs. AJ Styles – Extreme Rules 2016

JBL said it best: this match was the perfect contrast between the strength of Roman Reigns and the innovation of A.J. Styles.

Boy, was this match ever brutal. Styles and Reigns unleashed all kinds of hell on each other with so many impressive spots. Back body drops through tables, a Niagara Driver, Reigns swinging Styles around like a rag doll, and multiple high-impact chair shots were all seen in this crazy match.

Ultimately, it would be Roman’s strength and endurance that would prove supreme, as Reigns won with an impressive Spear into Styles as he flew in mid-air. In the end, Reigns did what he knew best, and that made the match much better than if Reigns tried to do things he wasn’t comfortable doing.

Interestingly enough, the audience chanted ‘you still suck’ at Reigns on at least one occasion. This was interesting because it suggested that, while the audience approved of what Reigns did, they still hated him enough yo reject his spot as a top guy.

This is Reigns’ best match to date. Though given who his opponent was, that shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone.
