Watch Out, Jinder Mahal

Heading into Payback, WWE Champion Randy Orton had one goal in mind; defeat Bray Wyatt at his own game. Even though he didn’t know what a “House of Horrors” match was, he seemed confident before the event he was leaving the victor. The fact that his title wasn’t on the line took one less worry off his shoulders, as he could focus solely on inflicting revenge.

More from SmackDown

A stiff and physical contest, Orton and Wyatt laid into one another. The first part of the match was in the control of the Eater of Worlds, but once they entered the arena, Orton took the advantage. Laying into his rival, it truly appeared that he was going to leave Payback with another win in the record books.

Unfortunately for him, it was the closing moments of the contest where Jinder Mahal and the Singh brothers chose to arrive. Their interference led to the Viper falling to Wyatt, losing what could go down as the final encounter between the two. Taunting the champion, Mahal emitted a grin as he walked away with Orton’s title and his henchmen.

Tonight, the Viper is going to go hunting for Mahal. He has never been one to forgive, and so the number one contender should be fearful. Don’t expect a match between these two on SmackDown Live, but rather a wild and chaotic brawl. This will help to further their rivalry and promote Backlash which looms in the distance.
