WWE Universal Championship Match
Brock Lesnar (c) vs. Braun Strowman

Brock Lesnar’s first WWE Universal Championship defense will be at Great Balls of Fire, facing a yet-to-be-determined opponent. He’ll then move to SummerSlam for his next appearance, which would be a surprise if he’s not part of the show.

For a while, it looked like Lesnar vs. Braun Strowman would headline Great Balls of Fire, but after Strowman’s elbow injury, it looks like this will be pushed back. If the Monster Among Men can return before August, look for him to challenge for the Universal Championship in the SummerSlam main event.

A collision of Lesnar and Strowman was once thought of as a head-scratching idea in 2016. However, the rise of the latter Superstar has been remarkable on the microphone, in the ring and with the booking of his character. He made for a refreshing part of Raw and established himself as a main event with a win over Reigns at Payback.

Does Strowman stand a chance of winning the title at SummerSlam? Maybe not, if WWE really wants to get Reigns vs. Lesnar at WrestleMania 34. That means we have a long way to go before the belt changes hands, but the match at WWE’s Biggest Part of the Summer should still be something to watch.
