WWE Intercontinental Championship Match
The Miz (c) vs. Roman Reigns

At Extreme Rules, The Miz won his seventh WWE Intercontinental Championship, something few others have achieved. It’s a product of Miz being a quality performer with the belt, especially when he held it on SmackDown Live in 2016.

WWE is clearly putting trust into the A-lister again, and could give him a somewhat lengthy run with the title. However, that depends on who comes his way on Raw.

During the main event of Extreme Rules, Roman Reigns didn’t come out successful as the new No. 1 contender to the WWE Universal Championship. It leaves him in a peculiar spot, as he has nothing to do, along with Braun Strowman still being injured. Could that mean WWE sends him into the Intercontinental Championship picture once Dean Ambrose is out of it?

Reigns vs. Miz would be an original feud, having never battle over a span of months. They’ve mostly been on opposite ends of the table, but with their plans potentially opening for SummerSlam, why not throw these two at each other?

If this happens, Reigns will be the favorite to win. It’s similar to the situation with Rusev and the United States Championship in 2016, which saw the Big Dog win it at Clash of Champions. Could he add another title to his list of accolades?
