1. Capture the Casual Fans

One of the biggest things that could happen if Braun Strowman main events SummerSlam is how he could impact the casual fans. Sure, the die-hards are hugely aware of what Strowman is capable of – and, whether they boo him or not, appreciate his raw talent. But what about those who aren’t regular viewers of Raw who happen to see SummerSlam?

People talk about it all the time – WWE has a ratings problem. Compared to the past, Raw has trouble holding on to viewers. But if there was a way to possibly convince them to tune in more frequently, the ratings may start to tick back up.

Enter Strowman. Put him in the main event at SummerSlam. There’s bound to be a ton of people watching who don’t watch Raw or SmackDown every week. Maybe not as many who watch WrestleMania, but still a fair amount, because SummerSlam is its own best marketing.

Imagine the reaction of someone seeing Braun for the first time. After a long show that featured the likes of the Hardy Boyz, John Cena, and others, you get this literal freak of nature. They probably wouldn’t know what to expect upon seeing him, until he does something like punt a guy across the ring.

The argument can be made that a main event spot isn’t necessary for Strowman to accomplish this. However, it is. If he opens the show or gets buried in the middle, no one will be as impressed with him. Once the rest of the show kicks in, something will happen that pushes Braun out of fans’ minds. But if he closes the show, he’ll be the talk of the town in the immediate fallout.
