WWE: Chad Gable and Jason Jordan’s Split is a Win-Win

With the news of Jason Jordan being Kurt Angle’s long lost son on WWE Raw, the split of American Alpha could end up being a win-win for both members.

This past week on WWE RAW, the news around Kurt Angle’s dark secret finally came out when it was revealed that Angle had a long lost son. His long lost son was then announced as Smackdown Live superstar Jason Jordan.

Jordan had spent the last year being apart of the SmackDown Live roster after being drafted to the brand last July. He went there with his now former tag team partner, Chad Gable. The two were known as American Alpha and were one of the most exciting tag teams on the blue brand. The duo hit their peak when they defeated The Wyatt Family to win the Smackdown Tag Team Championships.

Jordan and Gable held onto the championships for a couple of months before they would drop the titles to The Usos. After their loss to The Usos, they were scarcely seen on SmackDown Live and soon began to be irrelevant.

After being absent from television for the last few months Jason Jordan returned to television on RAW confirming he is indeed Angle’s son. The Raw General Manager then confirmed that Jordan would now be apart of the RAW roster.

With Jordan now on RAW and Gable remaining on Smackdown Live, the former partners will now begin their singles career’s. As we have seen in the past when teams split up, one partner always seems to do a bit better in their singles career than the other.

When The Rockers split, Shawn Michales had a better career than Marty Jannetty. When The Hart Foundation split, Bret Hart had a more successful career than Jim Neidhart. More recent teams such as The APA, Los Guerreros and The World’s Greatest Tag Team had the same issues.

In those cases JBL, Eddie Guerrero, and Shelton Benjamin had more sucesfull careers than Farooq, Chavo Guerrero and Charlie Hass. While people might feel that this trend could happen to American Alpha their is evidence that both partners could be successful.

With The Hardy Boyz, and Edge and Christian all four superstars went on to have very sucesfull singles careers. They all had at least one run as a heavyweight champion and were able to defeat some of the biggest names on the roster.

American Alpha both have the potential and the opportunity to both have sucesfull singles careers on the main roster. For Jason Jordan his push lies heavily on the progression of his story line with Kurt Angle.

This type of storyline is one that could be very successful or could go down as being a major flop for the company. If Jason Jordan is given the right opportunities and people to work with this storyline could jump start his career.

Jordan has all the tools in the ring as we have seen he is a very talented wrestler who uses his amateur background and skills in his matches. Where he lacks though is on the microphone. Being able to work with someone like Angle could help strengthen his skills.

Angle is by far one of the most entertaining stars of the last twenty years and he could help Jordan with his microphone skills. If Jordan can learn some skills on the microphone from Kurt Angle he could become one of the fastest rising stars on RAW.

In the case of Gable, we have seen early on that he the more comfortable of the two on the microphone. Gable was always the mouthpiece of the two and we have start to see his personality over the last few weeks.

Just like Jordan, Gable has an amateur background and is very strong in the ring. The last few weeks on Smackdown Live we have seen be able to talk a bit as he has interacted with the likes of Kevin Owens and Maria Kanellis.

Gable also has the benefit of being on Smackdown Live which is nicknamed the land of opportunity. If Gable shows promise and true talent he will be given chances to become one of the top stars on the blue brand.

With his solid microphone and ring skills, Gable has a chance to become a rising star on a brand that is need of some more star power. Will either member of American Alpha be successful? Will one have a better career than the other?

Who knows, however, the situation that both men are currently in give the former members of American Alpha the chance to become stars in WWE.
