5. There’s No Use for Lesnar Outside the Title Picture

As much as we like to talk about how part-timers shouldn’t be hogging the limelight in WWE and taking opportunities away from younger competitors, it very much feels like Brock Lesnar is the exception. That’s because as a character, we can accept the fact that Brock Lesnar wouldn’t want to be anywhere other than right there in the main event with a championship title hanging in the balance.

With Goldberg, Triple H, John Cena, The Undertaker, Randy Orton, you name ‘em, all sitting nicely as victories under his belt within the last few years, there’s no headlining match available for Brock Lesnar anymore that would believably sell without a championship up for grabs. Even the Roman Reigns vs. Brock Lesnar rematch that’s been talked about since even before this year’s WrestleMania would be better built with Lesnar as reigning champion and Reigns looking to prove himself.

If Lesnar is going to pass the proverbial torch, he may as well kill two birds with one stone and pass on a world heavyweight championship in the process.

It’s been stated that Lesnar’s official WWE contract expires just after WrestleMania 34, and although that isn’t exactly right around the corner, it feels like the company would benefit from booking Brock Lesnar as champion at least until we get underway on the Road to WrestleMania at the Royal Rumble in January.

Otherwise the man’s matches, perhaps with the exception of a rematch if he were to lose the title, suddenly go way down in terms of hype.
