#1: The Undertaker

The Undertaker is arguably the greatest superstar in WWE history.  Though he is most synonymous with WrestleMania, Survivor Series was his first home.  In 1990, as a surprise member of Ted DiBiase’s Million Dollar Team, The Undertaker would make his debut.  Coming to the ring with Brother Love at his side, Undertaker was an imposing figure. “Look at the ham hocks on this guy” exclaimed Roddy Piper.  The landscape of the WWE would be forever changed after this evening.  Just one year later, with an assist from Ric Flair, Undertaker would defeat Hulk Hogan at Survivor Series ’91 for his first WWE Championship.  In just a year’s time, he would make two major impacts at the same event.

More from WWE

After being trapped in a casket by Yokozuna at Royal Rumble in 1994, Taker would be gone for a majority of the year.  Then came Survivor Series.  Making his return, he would avenge the Rumble loss to Yokozuna and seal his fate.  The 1997 Survivor Series would be another site for revenge for Taker, this time against Mankind.  After being buried alive by Mankind and several other members of the roster The Undertaker disappeared.  At Survivor Series he would make Mankind pay for his past sins and continue dominance at the event.  Like The Rock, Undertaker was a member of Team WWF in 2001.  He fought vigilantly against The Alliance for most of 2001 and was integral in sealing the WWF’s victory.

2003 would see the end of a long feud with Mr. McMahon.  By this time Taker had become more humanized and would be known as “The Conscience of the WWE.”  After disagreeing with many of McMahon’s decisions the two would meet in a Buried Alive Match.  Taker would beat McMahon from pillar to post, until his half-brother Kane appeared and buried Taker, giving McMahon the Victory.  In 2005 as he had done in year’s prior, Undertaker would make his return at Survivor Series.  After Randy Orton had won the night for Team Smackdown, Taker appeared from a burning casket and demolished the Smackdown roster.
