WWE Raw: Liv Morgan Has The Tools To Become A Women’s Champion

Liv Morgan may just be known for now as one part of the Riott Squad on WWE Raw, but her future does look bright.  When Morgan does decide to go down her own path, the two greatest assets that the youngest member of the Riott Squad possesses might be her character and time to grow into being a top in ring performer.

An unfortunate injury to Ruby Riott this past week put a bit more of the onus on Sarah Logan and Liv Morgan to carry the load as the superstars causing mayhem backstage on WWE Raw.  The moments of destruction from the past few weeks actually seem to be where Morgan shines the most.

Let’s start here.  If Morgan was a surefire main event talent right now, she would not be in a three superstar faction.  At the same time, if she did not have enormous potential, then a match with Ember Moon would have never taken place this past Monday on WWE Raw.

Liv Morgan is WWE‘s Harley Quinn, and just like D.C.’s villain, WWE’s villain carries an innocent smile wherever there is destruction.  In a moment from this past week’s Raw where Morgan and Logan tore apart the backstage area, it was Morgan who gave a blue tongued laugh, while also hopping on Logan’s back as if it were a childish game.

The pig-tailed nuisance would continue her antics in the ring when she gave Ember Moon a noogie.  Even commentary played up how childish Morgan has been acting.  In fact, most of the praise for Morgan is her childish character, and it just so happens to be the most important part of a superstar and how they are perceived.

How many superstars over the years have been talented, but because those characters never clicked it led right to being relegated to the mid-card?  Morgan already has the understanding of how to implement bits of her character into her matches, which in turn makes the character more believable to the WWE Universe.

Is Liv Morgan competing at the level of Charlotte Flair yet?  No, but Morgan has only recently turned 24, and has years of wrestling experience already.

There have been many of successful female wrestlers in WWE that started off as a valet or manager, and then made the transition to wrestling at a later age.  Even the improvements that Lana has made over the past year in the ring is proof that Morgan is not a finished product.

The superstar that Morgan should be comparing herself to on the main roster right now is Alexa Bliss.  The Goddess of Monday nights is the perfect example of how a great character and mic work can fast track a career.

The Women’s Division in WWE does not have a long tradition of in-ring promos, but each year female superstars are being given more screen time, which means promos and character development are more important than they ever were before.  This is where, just like Bliss, Morgan can rise to the top of the Women’s Division.

For the time being, Morgan’s relationship with the rest of the Riott Squad will be a learning experience.  A learning experience similar to how The Shield or Absolution (still are) used each other to grow as better performers.

The only difference is as of right now the Riott Squad is being booked as one cohesive unit which means their mannerisms on the way to the ring are the same.  Three completely different superstars doing the same gestures does not tell the WWE Universe anything about each individual character, and that is why it has taken this long to learn about Morgan’s character.

Yet, when the Riott Squad does break up, there will be no more choreographing of group entrances, no more shared camera time, and a lot more singles matches like this past week on Raw.  Liv Morgan has plenty more years in WWE, and she also has the “It” factor that will make her a Women’s Champion.
