Velveteen Dream
I must admit, this is a personal pick for me. Velveteen Dream is a fine wrestler, not to mention intoxicatingly charismatic. At only 23, the Dream can be the future of professional wrestling in the WWE, if only the WWE’s management lets him. He has all the tools, both inside and outside of the squared circle, to be a megastar. Naturally, we can insert him into this feud with Finn Bálor and have it go off without a hitch.
The best parts of Dream’s character are that he makes every feud he’s in feel special, and the fact that he can play either a heel or a face more naturally than maybe anyone else in WWE. Everything works with his persona, and a babyface Dream taking on a massive heel Bálor would be an incredible sight. Both are so good in the ring, and it could even be a passing of the torch moment of the Universal Championship.

Not to mention, Dream’s tights for this match could be spectacular, parodying the sadistic demonic character that Bálor has put together over the past few months. This may seem like a leap of faith, but just try and imagine it if you can.
The Dream interrupts one of Bálor’s post-match beatdowns not by running in to make the save, but by talking Bálor out of it. Finn looks him dead in the eyes, and starts running after him. Not saying a word, just running.
Cut to commercial. We come back to see the Dream totally laid out backstage, with WWE brass calling for help. Bálor is running wild at this point, and not in the babyface, 1980s Hulkamania kind of way. Raw is a disaster, and after a couple weeks on the shelf, Dream finally comes back to confront the Demon, decked out in angelic tights, dressed in white from head to toe. This may be a bit too much biblical imagery for WWE, but just bear with me here.
You can set up a perfect face and heel dynamic just by the way Dream and Bálor carry themselves. Finn is psychotic, maybe even going back to the unstable gang leader of the Bullet Club era, while Dream is, although a bit of a diva, a good person at heart.
Set this up for a big marquee pay per view, no disqualification match, and let the two tear the house down. Good, of course, triumphs over evil, and Dream is finally able to end Bálor’s terrifying Universal Championship reign. This could also be a good time to change how the title looks, if the WWE isn’t willing to go through with a cherry red world championship any further. Just a suggestion, though.
