Fantasy Booking Miz vs. Daniel Bryan Until WWE WrestleMania 35
This last Sunday night at SummerSlam Daniel Bryan and The Miz finally went head to head after years of build, and as expected they stole the show.
A year ago this time fans wondered if we would ever see Daniel Bryan in the ring again, and after the moment he and Miz had on Talking Smack fans were dying to see this match, and watch as Daniel Bryan made Miz tap in a moment reminiscent of his big title win at WrestleMania 30.
That moment didn’t come at SummerSlam, but it will come down the road. Miz won. But it was how he won that should prove to fans that this feud is not over.
Miz had to use brass knuckles, given to him by Maryse who was in the crowd, to finally put Daniel down. The fact that Miz cheated means this feud is far from over. So what will the next step be? How will the feud move on from here?
First of all, these two shouldn’t meet in the ring one-on-one for a long time. They can continue to trade barbs on social media, and in promos, but Miz needs to play the heel role of having no interest in facing Daniel. He’s already beaten, Bryan. Why does he need to face him again? He’s proven that he’s better than Bryan can ever hope to be.
But with Hell in a Cell on the horizon, and AJ Styles already caught up in a feud for the WWE Championship with Samoa Joe, what does that leave for Miz and Bryan to do?
Bryan should be down, and rightfully so, as he said in his post-match “interview,” it was really more of a segment with his wife Brie, he “didn’t come back so people like Miz could win.”
Depending on what happens with Jeff Hardy and Randy Orton, Bryan vs. Orton would be a great feud to fill time until the time is right to continue the Bryan vs. Miz feud.

However, if Hardy can still go and Orton is going to be busy for the foreseeable future, then what to do with Bryan is a good question. Bryan vs. Eric Young would be a good story to tell. Especially with the rest of Sanity in tow. Just getting to see Bryan vs. Young, would be a treat.
But if Bryan could recruit a tag team to help him with the match at Hell in a Cell, and so on, then the program could be fun, and there are plenty of tag teams or even singles wrestlers that aren’t doing anything that could use a rub from sharing the ring with Bryan.
Guys like Dillinger and R-Truth spring to mind, and make a lot of sense given Dillinger’s problems with Young in NXT. Also, The Club comes to mind as well, as they have been going un-used on SmackDown Live recently.
As for Miz, coming off the win over Bryan should take on Nakamura for the United States Championship. The matches would no doubt be good, and after beating Hardy at SummerSlam Nakamura has nowhere to go, and needs a new challenger, enter Miz.
Come Survivor Series time, WWE needs to have Bryan and Miz both make the SmackDown team. Miz and Bryan should be the final two and Miz should cause Bryan to get eliminated, and then go on to win the match, and once again take credit for all of Bryans hard work. Saying he did what Bryan couldn’t once again.
After Survivor Series Miz should start number on contenders opportunities for the WWE Championship, while Bryan has to watch on the “sidelines.” Until finally, in the build to Royal Rumble Miz takes on Daniel Bryan for a shot at the WWE Champion at the event, an opportunity that Miz should win. Thus, forcing Bryan into the Royal Rumble match.
At the Royal Rumble, Miz vs. whoever is WWE Champion at the time should go on before the actual Royal Rumble match, and Miz should win the WWE Championship. It’s a long overdue moment for Miz, and as much as fans hate him, they love to see him succeed.
Daniel Bryan should come out for the Rumble more determined than ever, saying just before the Rumble starts, that he now has a guaranteed shot at Miz and the WWE Championship, all he has to do is go through the 30 other men in the match. And Daniel should do just that.
Bryan should finally get the Royal Rumble win he was owed going into WrestleMania 30. Seeing him celebrate and knowing that he’s heading to WrestleMania to take on Miz – and finalize this feud – will be the highlight of WWE in 2019. Until WrestleMania.
The build to WrestleMania needs to be epic, and it will be with these two involved. The two have shown that they don’t need to be in the ring, facing off to make great television, so WWE shouldn’t put them up against each other in any capacity.
Just let Daniel chase Miz, and cut promo’s calling him a coward at every opportunity. While Miz hides behind the Miz and Mrs. set and show at every opportunity.
Once WrestleMania finally gets here, and Miz has nowhere to run.
After witnessing Maryse help Miz cheat to win at SummerSlam, Brie Bella decides to walk down to the ring with her husband to help even the odds, and she does just that. On the outside she keeps Maryse in check, constantly interfering in the plans that Maryse and her husband have laid to try and give Miz an advantage over the “Ultimate Underdog” Daniel Bryan. Eventually, chasing Maryse out of the arena through the crowd, leaving Miz all alone with Daniel in the ring.
Miz watches as Maryse leaves him alone, and sees his opportunity to leave with his Championship. So, he walks over to the timekeeper’s area, grabs the WWE Championship and starts to head out of the arena. Only for Bryan to come to in the ring, and catch Miz halfway up the ramp, and throw Miz back into the ring.
Daniel starts hitting Miz with the ‘Yes Kicks,’ leaving Miz in a heap in the ring, as Daniels frustrations finally start to boil over. Daniel walks to the corner and sets up for his running knee. Once Miz makes it to his feet Daniel charges in and hits the knee on Miz but decides that one knee isn’t enough for the man who has made his life hell for the last year and sets up for another one.
Miz finally makes it to his feet and Daniel hits him with another running knee. As Daniel stands over Miz he realizes what will put the final nail in the coffin in this long-running feud, and locks in the ‘Yes Lock,’ forcing Miz to tap out and ending the war that was started almost a decade before.
Finally, five years after Daniel won the WWE Championship at WrestleMania by making Batista tap-out, Daniel once again stands tall on the “Grandest Stage of Them All.” And for the second time the Daniel Bryan Era begins in WWE.
