WWE NXT: 3 Superstars Who Could Benefit From a Gimmick Change

2. The Mighty
The really cool thing about the NXT tag team division right now is that everyone has their “thing.” That is to say, every team has an easily identifiable trait that sets them apart from the rest of the division.

For example, the Street Profits exude cool, finesse, and just seem like party-loving dudes who are fun to be around. Heavy Machinery, for as 1980s as their gimmick can be sometimes, are huge and yet athletic, not to mention one of the funniest (yet legitimate) acts on NXT. Undisputed Era are, well, Undisputed Era, and it’s hard to go wrong with the Undisputed Era.
So…what do The Mighty have? They used to be TM-61, so is a name change to something more boring really all they have going for them? The black and white color scheme doesn’t help, either. Everything about The Mighty just seem…boring. They are generic heels (who used to be generic faces, who then had a generic heel turn) with a generic look, a generic tag moveset, and a finisher which is, you guessed it, generic.
The Mighty have nothing to make them really stand out character-wise. When they’re on their game, they are a top tag team on NXT television, but only in the ring. In WWE, in-ring work is not the end all be all, and the main roster revolves around character. The Mighty cannot survive on workrate alone, and on the main roster, the chants of “mighty jobbers” might just come true.
