WWE SmackDown Predictions: Shinsuke Nakamura Back in Action

The Bar vs. New Day, Yet Again
We just talked about the fact that WWE SmackDown has five matches booked for tonight’s episode. The one with the biggest stakes is the tag match pitting The Bar against Rusev Day, as the winners will face New Day at Hell in a Cell for the SmackDown Tag Team Championships.

While I would love to see Rusev and Aiden English get a championship match — especially after Rusev challenged for the WWE Championship a mere two months ago — this match is going to end with Cesaro and Sheamus victorious.
It’s not a knock on Rusev Day, but just a matter of looking at the big picture. New Day are some of the biggest babyfaces in WWE. Rusev Day underwent an organic face turn over the past few months, and The Bar have been heels for some time. What’s the most logical matchup for a big pay per view match?
Plus, The Bar and New Day have had their fair share of banger matches. One took place in the run-up to SummerSlam, so the chemistry is definitely there. And to me, the logical thing would have been to have The Bar return to face the Bludgeon Brothers at SummerSlam, but that whole pesky heel-face thing came into play. Getting Cesaro and Sheamus a title match now seems appropriate.
What do you think may be going down on tonight’s episode of WWE SmackDown?
