205 Live: Mustafa Ali’s Final Words For Buddy Murphy

At Survivor Series, Mustafa Ali will finally get another shot at the Cruiserweight Championship, as he’ll taken on familiar foe Buddy Murphy in a match that could easily steal the show. Ali and Murphy’s No Disqualification match this summer was arguably 205 Live’s best match of 2018, with the other “Match of the Year Candidates” generally involving Ali or Murphy in some fashion.

Of course, Ali’s promos also deserve high praise, as he’s among the best in WWE at cutting heartfelt, babyface promos, and he is right up there with Lio Rush and Drew Gulak as one of the best talkers on 205 Live.

After Cedric Alexander defeated Rush in an exhilarating match that was the best of the week in all of WWE, Ali closed out the show with another stare-into-your-soul promo addressed to the Cruiserweight Champion.

Ali said,

"“Buddy you say that you’re willing to go to hell and back for the Cruiserweight Championship. Well this Sunday, you’re gonna have to. And no, you’re not gonna be alone. No. I’m gonna be right there with you. You see that championship means more to me than you’ll ever be able to understand. So go ahead and play all your mindgames, talk all the trash you want to. Because none of it’s gonna matter. At the end, it’s gonna come down to the two of us and what we do inside that ring. It’s gonna come down to your strength vs. my speed. It’s gonna come down to your aggression vs. my determination. It’s gonna come down to your anger vs. my heart. Sunday, you’re gonna learn that even a juggernaut cannot stop…the unstoppable.”"

This was another textbook promo from Ali, who always gives me chills. The man never breaks eye contact and never shows a sliver of fear in his eyes as he addresses his upcoming opponent.
