Kickoff: Apollo Crews vs. Tony Nese

It’s only fitting that we get things started with a test of strength between Apollo Crews and Tony Nese. Since being called up to the main roster, Crews has had trouble finding a way to stand out. One of his stronger qualities, however, is his impressive power. He makes it look easy as he picks up superstars that are larger then he is, and he continues to wow audiences with his strength.

What’s surprising about Crews’ power is the fact that he is also extremely agile and athletic enough to shock his competitors with flips and jumps just moments after displaying his strength. He’d make for a compelling opponent for many of the superstars of 205 Live, but there is only one man who can match Crews in the quickness AND power department.

That man is, of course, Tony Nese. There’s a reason Nese is known as The Premiere Athlete. One minute he’ll be breaking down his opponent with his brute strength, and the next he’ll be leaping off the top rope for a magnificent 450 Splash.

I think that this matchup would actually favor Nese because of his confidence in his skills. However, after a few minutes of Nese intimidating Crews, perhaps that would lead to Apollo realizing that he’ll have to show out and bring out all of his tools to take down someone that has a similar move-set.

With a chance for a few extra minutes on the kickoff show, the latter portion of the match would get the crowd on their feet with each man pulling out different ways to out-shine the other.
