Ricochet vs. Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins is carrying around the WWE Intercontinental Title and was continuing the trend of the open challenge. While the most recent edition of it failed miserably as viewers were given yet another match between he and Dolph Ziggler, there’s still an opportunity to leverage that match as a moment to give a man whose been tearing up the NXT stage the spotlight.

Ricochet is in a special place on the WWE roster. He’s featured prominently on NXT and since his signing as been inserted into the main event picture. Even though he’s not challenging for the title, it’s hard to deny that his matches are amongst the most anticipated on the shows.

There is still some concern with how he will be booked when it’s his time to step onto either SmackDown or Raw. At 5’9 and 196 pounds, he falls well under the usual frame for someone that’s considered a star. But he brings it in the ring with a move set that includes both high flying, striking and power-based assets that he can break out whenever its needed.

Now, imagine Ricochet’s skills against arguably the best wrestler on the main roster in Seth Rollins. If WWE leaked that Ricochet would be the one answering Rollins call, that would cause an immediate spike in interest because the fan base would know they are in for something special.

If these two are given the adequate time, then there wouldn’t be anything stopping them from putting on one of the best wrestling matches in the WWE, regardless of brand and platform. The ending doesn’t really matter at this time as everyone would be too excited about all the action coming their way from bell to bell. Ricochet doesn’t need to win the match to be recognized as a talented wrestler to watch; but with Rollins ability to help get him over, those that aren’t familiar with Ricochet would immediately want to know more.
