The Undisputed Era vs. New Day
Tag team wrestling may not be as prominent as it once was, but there’s still something special at the teams that can form a great and entertaining unit. Both the New Day and The Undisputed Era fit those molds and are two of the best factions in the WWE today. Bringing them together in a three-on-three style match would be the perfect way to introduce The Undisputed Era to the main roster.
With four men on their roster, the best mix for this match would be Roddy Strong, Bobby Fish and Kyle O’Reilly with Adam Cole serving as the man on the outside causing mayhem. The Undisputed Era has shined as one of the central figures of NXT television for the past year plus. When Strong joined the group as a foursome, it gave them the more versatility as a faction that has played out well since.
What’s most interesting about bringing these two groups together is the fact that they can put on a match that is both technical and entertaining from a wrestling standpoint, but also, do so with the perfect mix of comedic timing to keep things light when needed.
Look at how the New Day turned up their intensity against the Usos in the Hell in a Cell; that is still considered one of the best matches that either group has put together. The Undisputed Era fits right in for those styles of matches and they can sprinkle in the laughs that make their action more engaging for the fans watching.
All the members of both The New Day and The Undisputed Era would struggle with finding individual fame on the main roster but bringing these two groups together for a special one-off match would be a welcome edition to any weekly show; and would easily steal it at the same time.
