1. Will AEW finally give us the WWE that we deserve?

It is no secret that after becoming a global monopoly in the world of professional wrestling, the WWE has become complacent. Storylines have become lazy and more often than not, repetitive.

Gone are the days of organic babyfaces and heels. We now live in an era of confusing personalities and multi-man tag matches setup for the sake of it. Though there are exceptions to this, the WWE has become a mere shadow of what it used to be back in the good old days.

However, a few weeks ago, amidst sinking ratings and overall backlash from the fans, the McMahon family would make an appearance and promised change. While that change hasn’t yet been as drastic as one would have thought, you can’t deny that the product is changing.

We are seeing a difference in terms of how matches are booked and even how storylines are intertwined now. Take the case of Mandy Rose for example. Her rivalry with Naomi became intermingled with the championship match between The Usos and The Bar.

I see a highly possible scenario where Randy Orton targets AJ Styles as well as Daniel Bryan’s WWE Title. On Raw, we saw Seth Rollins having two parallel issues with Dean Ambrose as well as Bobby Lashley.

Another notable way is how the show opens most of the time. As opposed to starting a show with a boring promo segment that over-stood its welcome more often than not, these past couple of weeks have been different.

Of course, this week Daniel Bryan opened the show with a promo, but it was unlike anything we would have seen last year.

Four Important Questions Still Remain For AEW. dark. Next

One has to wonder if all this is due to the arrival of a new player in the game. I am talking about the All Elite Wrestling, which seems to be more than capable of one-upping the WWE at every turn.

One has to hope they do. After all, in the absence of competition, the WWE definitely tends to get complacent. After signing the likes of PAC (formerly known as Neville), Chris Jericho, and potentially Kenny Omega too, AEW might very well be the WCW of this generation.
