Hangman hit a fallaway slam and then a tope on Jericho. Hangman hit a pumphandle fallaway slam with a bridge, but Sammy kicked out. Hangman tagged out to Dustin, and Dustin continued beating on Sammy. Hangman tagged back in and went to the top rope, but Jericho distracted him, so Guevara hit a flying knee and pancaked Hangman on the top rope for a near fall.
Jericho tagged in and chopped page in the corner, but Page fought out and almost made the tag, but Jericho cut him off and tagged back out to Sammy. Page tried to fight out of a headlock from Jericho, but Guevara kept getting the heat on him. Jericho hit a vertical suplex on Page and taunted the crowd.
Jericho choked page on the middle ropes and went for a knee to the back, but Page rolled away, but Guevara was able to cut him off before he could tag out to Dustin. Page managed to get a back suplex on Sammy, but he still couldn’t make the tag as Jericho came in and tortured him a bit longer. Result: The Inner Circle (Chris Jericho (4-0) & Sammy Guevara (2-2)
Rating: **** (4 stars)
Excellent tag match that saw Dustin shine like a star, and the others stood out as great too. Everyone was given a chance to look awesome here, and having Dustin do the hot tag and take the finish was a good call.
Jericho, Hager, and Guevara started to destroy Rhodes, but Page tried to make the save. Hager and Page brawled outside of the ring, leaving Dustin without any help. The lights went out and came back on with Cody in the ring! He destroyed Sammy Guevara with a Cross Rhodes. Santana and Ortiz ran out and blindsided Cody.
MJF ran down to ringside with a chair but he hesitated to hit the Inner Circle. They teased him attacking Cody, but MJF attacked the Inner Circle again, taking them all out with chairs, except for Chris Jericho. Jericho dropped MJF with the Code Breaker, and then the Young Bucks ran down and killed Ortiz, Santana, and Guevara with superkicks before diving onto Ortiz and Santana as Jericho slowly walked out of the arena.
Jericho went after a referee, so Darby Allin rode his skateboard down the ramp and jumped on Jericho and started beating him with it.
Allin joined the Bucks, Cody, & Dustin in the ring as Jericho yelled that he was going to take out Allin next week. Jericho said that it was their funeral next week, as the Inner Circle is taking over.
Overall Rating: ****1/2 (4.5 stars)
This was phenomenal. Everything on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite set up stories for next week and gave us a lot of long-term things to think about. I can’t wait for Allin vs. Jericho next week, along with Britt Baker vs. Riho. This was a much stronger showing than week one, so I can’t wait to see where everything goes from here.
