WWE fans really want you to watch KUSHIDA vs. WALTER
WWE NXT featured several stellar matches, but fans were especially impressed with the performances of KUSHIDA and NXT UK Champion WALTER in the show’s main event.
There is no doubt that WWE NXT and AEW have been pulling out all the stops through two weeks of their ratings battle on Wednesday nights, and the quality of the matches have been absolutely stunning.
This week’s episode of NXT featured a great Cruiserweight Title match between Lio Rush and Drew Gulak, a strong match between elite wrestlers Bianca Belair and Dakota Kai, and a barnburner between Roderick Strong and Isaiah “Swerve” Scott.
But WWE fans saved their most effusive praise for the main event between WALTER and KUSHIDA, who showed that he can definitely hang with the best heavyweights in WWE by taking the NXT UK Champion to his limit.
This was an incredible match that was arguably of TakeOver quality, which is high praise indeed. Because TakeOver Specials set a different kind of bar in wrestling.
Here are what NXT fans thought about this thrilling match between two of the brand’s best wrestlers.
In terms of pure match quality absolutely, yes, but seeing Private Party upset the Young Bucks to open the show was insane. And Darby Allin’s skateboard attack on Chris Jericho was a top tier moment, albeit in a much different way from KUSHIDA vs. WALTER.
That is such a great point about WALTER. His physicality and endurance in the ring are ridiculous, and he definitely has that championship vibe with the title around his waist. Absolute star.
That sums it up perfectly. Definite congrats to Lio Rush. He’s one of the best in the business, and he’s earned that first title. It’s been coming.
Definitely. It was a special match, and it’ll surely be the match of the week, right? Hard to see anything topping what those two men did.
Anyone doubting KUSHIDA could hang with the heavyweights was being ridiculous. He’s a star, and WWE NXT did well to portray him in this way against WALTER. It reminds me of how they booked Ricochet, which has definitely played dividends. He’s already a big deal on the main roster.
