AEW: 5 dream opponents for Brodie Lee in All Elite Wrestling
By Sam Gladen
Nyla Rose
Kenny Omega has spoken publicly about his desire to bring intergender wrestling to western audiences on Wednesday nights. The issue with Intergender wrestling, at least in the eyes of some members of the western audience, is that it is not believable that a woman would be able to compete in a real competition of strength with a man.
While I have my own issues with that section of the wrestling audience, there is a simple solution to the problem voiced by the detractors for AEW: Have Nyla Rose wrestle the men’s roster.
Rose is a physically dominant and imposing figure who has only failed to win the Women’s Title due to a lack of kayfabe in-ring experience. You can move her quickly to a Tessa Blanchard like role, transitioning away from women’s division competition to test her mettle against the men of AEW.
The best way in my mind to properly execute this change in booking styles would be having her compete against a new face. Someone that the AEW faithful are not as intimately familiar with as they are with Omega, Sabian, and Janela. (All experienced intergender wrestlers).
Plus, both Lee and Rose wrestle a similar style, assuming Lee’s style will mimic his work in the WWE. They are both large, high impact wrestlers that benefit from slowing the pace of a match down, targeting a weak spot on an opponent and exploiting it.
Working closely with Lee may serve to close some of the education gaps in Rose’s in-ring experience lending her to a much more believable work rate with less clunky and awkward movements.
