WWE Raw: Is Seth Rollins about to enlist some ‘big’ help?

Seth Rollins will deliver a “sermon” on the upcoming episode of WWE Raw, and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he enlisted some more help in order to build an even more insurmountable stable.

After losing the Universal Championship to “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt on Halloween, Seth Rollins has reverted to his true form. He is a cowardly heel assembling a stable of villains to protect him, yet also protecting his own fragile ego by making himself out to be a “Messiah” leading WWE Raw.

WWE announced that “The Architect” will deliver a “sermon” – because apparently that’s what he calls his promos now – on the Feb. 17 episode of Monday Night Raw. This speech comes on the heels of an eight-man tag team match victory on last week’s show.

According to a report from PWInsider.com’s Mike Johnson, the Big Show will make his return to Raw this week, too. (Hat tip to WrestlingNews.Co’s Jon Fuentes.)

We saw the Big Show help Samoa Joe and Kevin Owens on the Jan. 6 episode of Raw, as they took on Seth Rollins and The Authors of Pain in a six-man tag match.

He also fought with Joe and Owens on the Jan. 13 episode of Raw against Rollins and the AoP in a “Fist Fight”, but the babyfaces lost after a brooding Buddy Murphy joined Seth’s stable. (Murphy was reeling from yet another loss to the undefeated Aleister Black.)

Show is known for turning between heel and face at a rapid rate – sometimes multiple times during the same show! So it would be “on brand” for him to turn heel on this week’s episode of WWE Raw, only one month after helping the babyfaces.

It would also make perfect sense for Rollins to work with Show again, given how closely tied he ended up becoming to The Authority storyline. He even turned on the babyfaces to rejoin The Authority during the fateful “Dolph Ziggler” (Sting) Survivor Series match in 2014.

Don’t be surprised if Rollins’ “sermon” has a larger purpose: adding another big man to his roster of superstars in the Raw main event scene. Rollins had delusions of grandeur, and teaming up with the Big Show can help him pave a road to greatness en route to WrestleMania 36. He’ll have his reckoning day with Kevin Owens, and perhaps riskily aligning with the mercurial WWE legend will play into his downfall.

But for now, Rollins thinks he is untouchable. WWE may be advertising this “sermon” because they have nothing better planned, but Raw isn’t haphazardly booked anymore under Paul Heyman.

There must be something brewing here, and the tricky Rollins may just use Big Show as the ace up his sleeve to one-up Owens and Joe, who have enlisted the help of the Viking Raiders to make things four-on-four. Even odds aren’t enough for Rollins, of course. He wants as big of an advantage as he can possibly get.
