For four months now, ever since the debut episode of AEW Dynamite, The Elite have been at a crossroads with Chris Jericho’s supergroup, The Inner Circle. Ever since, well, Jericho created and debuted that supergroup during the same premiere episode.
This stable war has lived through over 20 episodes of Dynamite and two straight Pay-Per-View events. Now, all parties involved have had just about enough of each other to the point that there is only one way to settle their differences: they must actually go to war now, but not just any war: they must go to WARGAMES.
Well, not WarGames per say. Since WWE own the writes to the “WarGames” name, expect this company’s version of the match type to revert back to the match’s original name in WCW … The Match Beyond.
Still, in any case, while AEW have yet to officially announce the rules to Inner Circle vs. Elite, expect a WarGames announcement. And when we finally get WarGames, regardless of what kind of name AEW decides to brand it under, expect one thing: war. Both teams are going to go to war with each other. Someone will die … of fun.
