#7. Adam Cole vs. Dominik Dijakovic – WarGames Advantage – NXT (Nov. 20, 2019)

Next up is the most recent ladder match to occur under the NXT umbrella. This one was “given away” on free TV, taking place just days before TakeOver: WarGames. NXT Champion Adam Cole was tasked with overcoming the larger Dominik Dijakovic to determine which team would receive the WarGames advantage.

The size difference allowed for fun ladder spots to take place, one of which included a crazy Panama Sunrise from Cole at a higher elevation than usual. Dijakovic, who arguably had the most to prove in this main event, took a bold back bump onto a horizontal ladder at the end, allowing for Cole to secure the briefcase. Kudos to these two for putting it all on the line on an episode where the likes of Becky Lynch and The Revival competed in dream matches.

#6. AOP vs. #DIY – NXT Tag Team Championship – TakeOver: Chicago (May 20, 2017)

WWE NXT’s tag team division was one of the hottest things going in early 2017 with the likes of #DIY, Authors of Pain, and The Revival. With Dash and Dawson moving on to Raw, Johnny Gargano and Tommaso Ciampa still had unfinished business with Akam and Rezar.

History was made once again when the two teams met in NXT’s first tag team ladder match which, much to the surprise of many fans, headlined TakeOver: Chicago. Looking back, they deserved to be the final match on the card with what we know now about Ciampa’s injury and the way he turned on Gargano.

Despite the injury, Ciampa left it all on the line while Gargano was able to pull off his high-flying spots to keep us on the edge of our seats. Even though many viewed AOP as green at that time, they stepped up and brought their A-game with big bumps and flat out human destruction. The champions continued to reign supreme all while the greatest feud in NXT history was born that fateful night.
