Bayley

Bayley has practically held the SmackDown Women’s Championship for the entirety of a year. Save for a brief week long title loss after Hell in a Cell that split what should be a year long reign in two, the former Hugger has had the big blue belt attached to her hip ever since she first won it back in May for Money in the Bank.

With for how long Bayley has been associated with that title and for how much heat she’s garnered since first becoming a heel last fall, it’s going to mean something – it needs to mean something – whenever someone finally beats her for the title. And by something, I mean something big.

It needs to feel like a big deal when Bayley finally loses the title and while losing at WrestleMania is technically a big deal, it wouldn’t feel as big of a deal without a crowd to react to it. Even if Sasha Banks of all people winds up pinning Bayley in this Fatal Five Way, it’s hard to feel invested when the betrayal occurs to deafening silence.

Save the title loss for another day, but for now, give Bayley her Mania moment.
