5 wrestlers who can become the face of AEW in the future
Darby Allin
Darby Allin has received by far the most love as a future top star in the company, and he could be one of AEW’s best “homegrown” talents. In a company that has signed stars who were already big names at other promotions like WWE, NJPW, and ROH, Allin is like Nyla Rose in the sense that he joined the company as a relative unknown.
In a short few months, Allin has become one of the most beloved wrestlers not just in AEW, but in the entire business. With his reckless wrestling style skateboarding, never-say-die attitude, and intensity on the mic, Allin has shown that he has the total package.
When Allin finally defeats Cody Rhodes, he’ll receive a thunderous pop (assuming there will be fans). And you can only imagine the applause he’ll receive from the fans when he wins the AEW World Championship. It’s absolutely going to happen.
Scorpio Sky
Scorpio Sky received a video package on the most recent episode of AEW Dynamite in which he said that he doesn’t just want to be great. He wants to be a legend.
Those are ambitious words from Sky, but AEW fans can clearly see his potential. Sky came up short in an AEW World Title match against Chris Jericho, but you can bet that the next time he gets a shot at the world championship, he won’t miss his opportunity to stand atop the company’s men’s division.
Working with Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian, who are two of the company’s most respected and experienced wrestlers, has its bonuses. In that video package, Sky spoke about not wanting to be the third wheel, and, honestly, he’s anything but. Fans can clearly see the improvement he’s made.
