Murphy is in a great spot

Murphy is the top disciple of false prophet Seth Rollins, but he’s now in an interesting situation. Seth Rollins lost his mind on the May 11 episode of WWE Raw, one night after shaking Drew McIntyre’s hand following a wonderful title match at Money in the Bank.

Rollins then did not shake Rey Mysterio’s hand after the wrestling legend congratulated him on fatherhood. During his and Murphy’s tag match against Aleister Black and Rey, Rollins looked completely out of sorts. He was disheveled, distant, unresponsive, and let Murphy hang out to dry…until he suddenly snapped into “life” and basically tried to permanently blind Mysterio with the steel steps. Afterward, he acted all confused like he didn’t know what happened.

While Rollins’ descent into madness and potential demonic possession will be the biggest storyline on Raw in the coming weeks, it’s equally important to put the focus on Murphy, who has put so much into joining Rollins in the aftermath of a “series sweep” at the hands of Aleister in their acclaimed rivalry.

Murphy has to be confused after Rollins’ actions on Monday, as he was left to wrestle Aleister and Rey alone. But Murphy is in a great spot to either succeed Rollins or break away from his unpredictable mentor. Follow his actions next Monday closely, too.
