WWE SmackDown: Is Alexa Bliss or Nikki Cross Sister Abigail?
The Fiend attacked Alexa Bliss to close the July 31 episode of WWE SmackDown, but is she or tag team partner Nikki Cross Sister Abigail?
About three years ago, when Bray Wyatt was feuding with Finn Balor in Raw’s mid-card, he told wrestling fans that he would reveal Sister Abigail. Instead, he did this. But fans haven’t stopped wondering if we’d get a real Sister Abigail character, and it may finally happen on WWE SmackDown.
On the July 24 episode of the show, Nikki Cross subtly planted the seeds of a heel turn on Alexa Bliss by shoving her tag team partner to the ground when she realized she’d have to beat Alexa in order to get a shot at Bayley’s SmackDown Women’s Title.
Alexa didn’t blame her for it and supported her after Cross’ win, but when Cross lost to Bayley on the July 31 episode to fall short in her latest attempt at the title, she snapped. Cross shoved Bliss again…and then the lights went out.

All anyone could talk about after WWE SmackDown was how The Fiend attacked Alexa Bliss. It was an awesome moment that ranks as one of the most memorable of 2020 thus far, so it’s understandable that The Fiend’s attack was on everybody’s mind after the show.
The push, though, hangs in the air. Because if there is a Sister Abigail character, most people are focusing on Alexa Bliss as the answer.
After all, Bray Wyatt used her holograph to trick Braun Strowman at a decisive moment in the Wyatt Swamp Fight at Extreme Rules. Strowman and Bliss have a connection from their days at “Team Little Big” in the Mixed Match Challenge, so, of course, The Fiend would use that partnership.
Maybe Bliss is betraying Braun and going to the darkside to play a totally different character.
But what if the former real leader (apologies to Eric Young) of Sanity is the real Sister Abigail?
It makes sense. Cross has been the aggressor so far. And fans have been wanting her to play a dark character again, which she could nail as a heel Sister Abigail. It could be an even more intriguing character than the dark babyface character she played while with Sanity.
Because of the shoves and the way The Fiend attacked Bliss, it makes far more sense for Nikki Cross to have helped orchestrate the whole thing. Maybe she wants to betray Bliss and send a message to the rest of the locker room that she and The Fiend are going to run both divisions eventually. Wyatt has his eyes on the Universal Title, and maybe, as Sister Abigail, Nikki Cross will make one final push for the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship at SummerSlam.
It’s just a thought. But whether it’s Alexa Bliss, who would also be wonderful as Sister Abigail in a completely different character, or Nikki Cross, WWE could have one hell of a story on its hands.
