WWE needs to start giving Naomi more time in the ring

WWE needs to let Naomi glow.

** Slow sips my tea **

So, here where we’re at.

This whole thing started because the Glow Mob got fed up at the way WWE has treated Naomi for pretty much her entire wrestling career, right?

Two weeks later, on the July 31, 2020, edition of SmackDown, WWE scheduled a match between Naomi and Lacey Evans. Every member of Naomi’s fan base, The Glow Mob, made it very clear that they were watching this match very closely.

Well, that happened.

First of all, this match is just another example that Lacey Evans was called up to the main roster way too quickly. She’s still way too botchy in the ring and she’s not exactly the world’s best seller — at all.

Prime example, there was a bit of a botch toward the end of the match when Naomi attempted to execute a type of spinning blockbuster move on Lacey Evans. It still looked amazing though.

Except Lacey Evans didn’t sell the move properly and landed awkwardly. (It took me slowing it down several times to properly see that).

And, of course, everyone’s blaming that on Naomi. But, anyway.

Second of all, they had Naomi win via roll-up. That was a bad move because Naomi needed a more concrete win than that. Naomi winning isn’t the problem. It’s how she won. They could’ve done better than that.

It came off like they were protecting Lacey Evans. For what? It wasn’t necessary.

Sidebar: I’m not even going to get into Lacey’s microaggressive tweets about Naomi’s hair combined with grabbing Naomi’s hair in that match, because that’s beside the point.

Speaking of points, the last thing I wanted to point out was the length of the match. It was way too short. I don’t even think the match was 5 minutes long.

Like, Seriously?! Seriously WWE?

This is ridiculous!

I can’t even remember the last time Naomi was given 10 minutes in a singles match.

Not tag team matches, not multi women’s matches, not Royal Rumbles of any kind, not mixed tag team matches, a singles match.

A singles match as in a one-on-one match!

Her championship match at the 2017 Elimination Chamber pay-per-view wasn’t even 10 minutes long — approx. 8 minutes and 20 seconds!. Three years later and nothing much has changed. Yet, people are still saying Naomi doesn’t deserve better. Seriously?

Like, what’s not clicking?!

How can Naomi better showcase herself and her skills if she isn’t even given a decent amount of time in the ring?

I keep feeling like she hasn’t even scratched the surface and it’s time for her to Glow in full force.

When fans had Naomi trending for days saying Naomi deserves better, this kind of stuff is what we’re talking about! This right here.

It’s kinda hard for her, or anyone, to put on stellar, career-defining matches in four to eight minutes. I wouldn’t go and say impossible, but it’s pretty close. And yes, short matches happen to everyone. But Naomi gets them more than most.

It’s almost as though WWE has no true faith in her or her ability…after a decade of carrying matches, being one of the most, if not, the most creative and innovative wrestlers in the ring! A decade!

Like seriously. Her matches need more depth, more story building, twist, and turns, more moments, and more shockers. She just needs to be given (not handed) better opportunities in order to properly do that and it can be as simple as just giving Naomi more ring time.

That’s it. That’s all! Just give her more time!

I already know a lot of the Glow Mob is going to disagree with me, But If we have to get an Authoritative figure involved and play this issue out in a storyline, to me, that’s fine. (I’ll go in on  that another time.)

But, this really does need to be addressed!

And after Naomi gets done with Lacey Evans, the focus needs to shift to getting Naomi better feuds, with better opponents that can at least keep up with her (for the love of Pete) and making sure WWE remember that fans want Naomi to get more than four to six minutes in the ring when necessary. Period!

Next. Asuka should use the Kana character in WWE. dark

WWE has had a nasty habit of dimming Naomi’s Glow before and refusing to give her longer singles matches is just another one of their tired tactics that caused the #NaomiDeservesBetter movement to come back with a vengeance in the first place and it has no plans of stopping.

She’s more than deserved it WWE. Do better!
