AEW has been on a free agent signing frenzy lately, and it’s looking like another big free agent is on his way to AEW. Fightful reported that former WWE NXT North American champion “Swerve” Strickland will ink a deal that begins in March. Shane Strickland and the rest of his Hit Row stable were all released from the WWE in November of 2021, less than six weeks after they were called up to the main roster as part of the WWE draft.

Shane Strickland is one of the best wrestlers in the world, and he has the chance to prove that in AEW. Swerve has been wrestling professionally for ten years now and has wrestled everywhere from CZW, Evolve, Lucha Underground, MLW, and WWE. In this article, I will be discussing the five AEW matches we must see for Strickland.

5. Shane Strickland vs. Malakai Black

Wrestling fans would love to see Shane Strickland vs. Malakai Black matches because it would be between two wrestlers who want to become masters of their craft. Malakai Black has found a groove in AEW, unlike WWE, where they didn’t know how to push him. Shane Strickland’s matches with Black would be legendary because he was so great in the ring. Shane Strickland feuding with Malakai Black and the House of Black could lead to more fresh faces getting television time on AEW, which would be good.

4. Shane Strickland vs. MJF

Shane Strickland and MJF are a feud that could allow AEW to introduce him to the crowd. MJF is an AEW homegrown talent that has proven each time why he is one of the best wrestlers of this generation. Shane Strickland and MJF could create some excellent entertainment for AEW regarding the promos and matches that these two could have. MJF is currently in the hottest wrestling feud involving himself and CM Punk, but after that rivalry, MJF should jump into a rivalry with Shane Strickland before moving on to the AEW World championship. Shane Strickland has the determination and excellent ring ability to become a factor in AEW and not lose in the shuffle.

3. Shane Strickland vs. Adam Cole

Adam Cole and Shane Strickland is a feud that we should have gotten in NXT because they were both there simultaneously. We all know Cole and Strickland can wrestle, but sharing the same ring in AEW would be an exceptional event because the two stars want to prove they belong in AEW. It would be wise of AEW to book this feud because this match would bring more eyes to AEW, who last seen these two on NXT. The WWE made a mistake by allowing these two stars to go to AEW because they will be future world champions.

2. Shane Strickland vs. Kenny Omega

This is a dream match that wrestling fans would love to see if the story is built right and given enough time. AEW is the only company right now that has the chance to create wrestling matches that fans never thought they would see. AEW is the most popular wrestling company because they give their fans exactly what they want. Kenny Omega was the wrestling MVP in the late 2010s putting on Five-star matches every time he would step in the ring. Shane Strickland has the in-ring talent to hang in the ring with the best of them, and Kenny will be no different. This match is coming, and it will be another classic match in AEW.

1. Shane Strickland vs. Bryan Danielson

At this very moment, Bryan Danielson is the best wrestler in the world and is on his way to becoming one of the greatest wrestlers ever. “The American Dragon Bryan Danielson has been on a mission since coming to AEW and hasn’t had a bad match yet. Shane Strickland being in a match with Bryan Danielson would help elevate the fans who never saw his work in MLW and Lucha Underground. When it comes to professional wrestling in 2022, wrestling fans are seeing an evolution that hasn’t been seen since the 90s. AEW has created magic when it comes to making fans tune in to what is happening on their Wednesday night show. Shane Strickland has come to the right company if he wants to prove he is one of the best wrestlers in the world.
