WWE better not fumble booking the new faction with Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits.

The Judgement Day is the top faction all of WWE at the moment and seems to be running things on Monday Night Raw (and partially NXT). For the past several weeks on Friday Night Smackdown, we’ve been watching a new faction marinating. A new faction that we all assume will be called The Hurt Business. Nevertheless, it’s a faction that so far will include Bobby Lashley and The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford).

The fact of the matter is all of these superstars needed something fresh.  A new gimmick, new storylines, etc. Especially, The Street Profits. When it comes to them, the typical yet predictable storyline would be one of them turns on the other to break up the tag team and feud with each other. For once, WWE has decided for the near future to keep them together and instead retool them into a faction with Lashley.

From the moment Lashley made his first appearance on Smackdown after the WWE brand draft, it was imminent the company had new plans for these three.

Previously, The Hurt Business consisted of MVP, Cedric Alexander, Shelton Benjamin, and Lashley. This formation of the group only lasted two years and never really reached its potential. Some believe it could have been because they formed during the pandemic with no crowd, but regardless, other than the combination of MVP/Lashley, it wasn’t able to gravitate with the fans as a faction. However, the idea of the faction showed plenty of potential if the right members were cast.

The addition of The Street Profits instantly elevates the credibility and intimidation of the faction. They are one of three teams in WWE history to hold all three Tag Team Championships on all three brands (The Revival & The New Day). They’re easily considered one of the best tag teams in all of wrestling today. Adding that to the resume of what Lashley has accomplished only adds more fuel to the fire for this group.

The faction is aiming to be a heel group since they’re taking out other factions that are babyface. While having these three as a new faction is intriguing, what makes it even more enticing is they may not be done adding members to the faction. The Street Profits have made a couple of appearances on WWE NXT to pay a visit to the current NXT Champion Carmelo Hayes.

This has been a rumor for quite some time that this faction was in the works. The day these superstars officially join forces will change the landscape of professional wrestling. Adding an up-and-coming main event superstar in Hayes and one of the most improved superstars in all of WWE over the past year in Trick Williams makes this faction superior to the rest of the WWE.

We’re watching the next big faction in all of wrestling immersing right before our eyes. Before it all comes to fruition, both Hayes and Williams have to finish their stories in NXT, which may come down to them facing each other. Either way, their move to the main roster is looking like it will be on Smackdown to join Lashley and The Street Profits.

In contrast, WWE cannot mess up with what they have with this new group. While Damian Priest and Finn Balor did just win the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championships, up to that point WWE had been executing with all of the members of The Judgement Day, except for Balor — who was supposed to be the new leader of the group.

Imagine if WWE gets this completely right with The Hurt Business 2.0. The Hurt Profits? Just playing with names. There are also rumors that a returning Bianca Belair could join once she returns to WWE after he time off. So much potential with this new faction and if executed correctly, we will witness history before our very eyes.
