Last December, ASÉ Wrestling celebrated its one-year anniversary. To celebrate, there was an eight-man, one-night tournament to crown the inaugural Men’s World Champion. It came down to ASÉ founder, Darius Lockhart and his nemesis, Mr. Darius Carter. Their feud began back at the first show when Carter shoved Lockhart’s mentor and teacher, Mr. Milligan.

With a year under the promotion’s belt, ASÉ is preparing for an even bigger year. During the anniversary show, it was announced that they are going to Las Vegas during “Mania Week”. For years, many independent promotions put on shows surrounding “WrestleMania” to take advantage of all the wrestling fans in one area (and some wrestlers hope to attract someone scouting for the bigger promotions). Their show will be on Thursday, April 17. Tickets will go on sale in February.

February will be a busy month for ASÉ as they will have announced that they will be part of Naptown All Pro-Wrestling’s Combat Crossroads. The event will take place in Indianapolis, Indiana over “Royal Rumble” weekend. The other promotions have been announced are Wrestling REVOLVER, GCW The World, Midwest Territory, and F1GHT. On February 1, ASÉ joins Naptown and F1GHT for Luv: A Celebration of Black Indie Wrestling. The show is in honor of the late Terry “Tre” Davis, Jr. He was the founder of We Luv Wrestling.

ASÉ TV coming to YouTube

In order to prepare for their first shows outside of North Carolina, ASÉ TV is coming to their YouTube channel. It is a weekly episodic show airing on Thursdays at 8 PM ET. It will feature every ASÉ match thus far. The first episode will air on Thursday, January 9.

ASÉ Wresting’s first show emanated from the historic Grady Cole Center. This venue has a lot of wrestling history from the 1980s. Legends like Dusty Rhodes and Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat wrestled there.

Episode one will take you back to the beginning. The two matches are the ones that bookended ASÉ’s very first show. The first match in ASÉ history saw Frontman JAH-C take on former IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Champion, Kevin Knight. This match definitely set the tone for what was to come.

The main event set the bar very high with Trish Adora facing the legend, Aja Kong. Yes, you read that right. These women made history as the first women to ever main event the Grady Cole Center.  Other wrestlers to be featured include The King Bees, Sonny Kiss, Yahya, Jonathan Gresham, and O'Shay Edwards.

Each ASÉ show begins with music from an artist from North Carolina or the Southeast. GRAMMY nominated, multi-platinum artist LUTE was the first artist to perform at an ASÉ show. He is part of Dreamville, the label owned by North Carolina’s J. Cole.

The episodes of ASÉ TV will run anywhere from 60 to 90 minutes. The shows feature commentary from award winning sportscaster and documentary producer, Chris Lea and Gerard Bonner, pro wrestling broadcaster for All Carribean Wrestling and SHW. Featured special guests on commentary include Pan Afrikan World Diaspora Champion, Sugar Dunkerton and Faye Jackson.
