History was made at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event. Chelsea Green and Michin competed to become to the inaugural WWE Women’s United States Championship. Green came out victorious, capturing the title after an 8-minute match. This was one of those wholesome moments in professional wrestling, as the response to Green’s victory shows just how much she’s loved across the industry.

When Green returned to WWE in 2023, it quickly became clear how vital she is to this women’s division. Green is one of those performers that maximizes every second she has on television, online, and any other space along the way. While her character may be seen as a “comedic heel,” she’s capable in that position. Green is one of the most over wrestlers on the roster and giving her the title is a testament to how hard she’s worked to get to this position.

“I’m really happy for Chelsea Green,” tweeted WWE Hall of Famer, Sean Waltman. “She earned that. Incredibly entertaining every time she’s on my screen.”

“Omg, I can’t stand her but that was good,” tweeted Trinity Fatu after Green’s victory in a pair of tweets. “Congrats knuckle head. I just know you’re going to be even more annoying with that title.”

The praise for Green even extended beyond the ropes of the WWE ring. With Jordynne Grace giving her a shout out on her social media as well, sending a pair of tweets to recognize her former foe.

Green’s title win comes seven years to the day of when she won her first singles title. She captured the TNA Impact Knockouts Championship on December 14, 2017, and picked up the WWE Women’s United States Championship on that same day in 2024. This is one of those moments that should be celebrated in professional wrestling. There aren’t many acts like Chelsea Green (thankfully) and she should be recognized for her success.
