3 teams to welcome the Motor City Machine Guns to WWE
There was heavy speculation about Motor City Machine Guns and where the talented Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin would show up next. Initially, it looked like AEW was the best spot, but recent rumors swirled about them heading to WWE. Well, thanks to a mistake by the Brazilian commentary team, it has been confirmed that MCMG are heading to SmackDown.
On the Friday, October 4 edition of SmackDown, there was a “Coming Soon” video that featured shots of Detroit and two men speeding around in a car. If that wasn’t an easy enough hint, the Brazilian team mentioned the Motor City Machine Guns by name while speaking in Portuguese. The clip quickly made the rounds online and that is that. Looking forward to the two men joining the show, here are three tag team angles that would fit perfectly for the duo.
DIY
Think of the possible matches between Johnny Gargano, Tomasso Chiampa, Chris Sabin, and Alex Shelley. Instant classics should be the first thought that comes to mind. These are four of the best performers in professional wrestling, and pitting all of them in a match together would be fantastic. While we can dream of them battling over the WWE tag team titles, think about the possibility of these four men taking it to each other in a fatal four-way. The potential for greatness is there.
Pretty Deadly
Pretty Deadly may be seen as a comical addition to the WWE roster, and understandably so. But the two men can work, and they do so very well within their characters. They are well outside the title picture, so they would be a good intro feud for Shelley and Sabin. One in which MCMG should get the victory easily.
Nathan Frazer & Axiom
Now, this is the real dream match. Nathan Frazer and Axiom have been one of the best tag teams in professional wrestling since joining together on WWE NXT. Each time they step into the ring it is as if they are working to remind everyone that they deserve to be in the consideration for the top team in the business. These two men can work and think of the possibilities if they were pit against two of the best of all time. This is what “passing the torch” is supposed to look like and there would be a great story to tell along the way.
