Elton Prince and Kit Wilson are great in their roles within the tag team division. Pretty Deadly should get some time at the top.

The booking may not add up, but WWE has an excellent tag team division. There’s a wealth of talent within that group, and it is understandable why so many fans are frustrated. One duo that continues to stand out is Pretty Deadly. The pairing of Elton Prince and Kit Wilson is a fantastic team that makes the most of every minute they get in front of the camera.

There’s something to say about a team that clicks so well it is almost hard to hate them. At first glance, Pretty Deadly look like nothing more than a gimmick-heavy team that should be nowhere near the discussion of the best team in the company. But watching everything that they do quickly replaces that misguided thought.

Wilson and Prince do everything right. Their characters come across in a way that viewers can’t help but laugh at their antics. It doesn’t matter if they are paired with heels or babyfaces on screen, Pretty Deadly will get some sort of chuckle out of those watching. That character element is something that WWE values and both members are doing a great job fulfilling that role.

However, do not sleep on their in-ring abilities. Prince and Wilson can work. And they can work with any team on or off the roster. While they haven’t had the best opportunity to spread their wings with wrestling during the main roster run, look back at their time in WWE NXT and NXT UK for several examples of where they delivered. Their 2021 match against Mustache Mountain was one of the better tag team matches of the year, and they did that one twice, both of which were well-received. If you’re looking for something more recent, their 2022 match against The New Day is another example of how these two wrestlers stand out. Wilson and Prince can go as a unit and that’s exactly where they should remain for the foreseeable future.

The SmackDown tag team picture needs some work. The championships are around the waist of Tama Tonga and Jacob Fatu, wrapped up in The Bloodline angle. That’s an unfortunate reality because it makes those titles a prop in an angle that doesn’t need them. The titles should still be around the waists of DIY as they do battle with the best teams on the roster, such as Pretty Deadly. Hopefully, Triple H recognizes what these two men could do as the central figures in the tag team division and gives them the opportunity to stand in that place. Pretty Deadly would thrive because they have all the tools necessary to be a top team for this promotion.
