Bron Breakker has the potential to fill the injury void on Monday Night Raw
Bron Breakker’s move from SmackDown to Monday Night Raw was one of the biggest changes that went down on Night One of the 2024 WWE Draft. His move to Raw comes at a time when several top stars are injured, creating an opening for newer names to step in and fill the void. Breakker could be one of those performers and WWE should give him a steady push into the mid-card scene.
According to Cagematch Breakker has 113 matches under his belt. Even more astounding is that he had only 13 matches before he was challenged and defeated Tommaso Ciampa for the NXT Title. WWE saw enough of him from September 2021 to January 2022 to know that it was time to put the title on him for a major push. What they saw is a character that the WWE Universe would quickly rally behind and they did just that. Even after a bit of a lull and stagnation, the fans returned to his side during this recent run with Baron Corbin.
Now, the question is what will happen with Breakker on the main roster and the promotion’s flagship show. The answer should be a slow burn through the midcard before presenting him as a main event threat. This is the proverbial fish jumping from a small pond to the large sea and WWE can’t make the mistake of elevating him to the same position in the same amount of time. But the slow approach would have its benefits.
Sami Zayn is the WWE Intercontinental Champion and he’s heading into a big feud with Chad Gable. The very same Gable that is rumored to be paired with The Creed Brothers. That is going to be an angle that fans will get behind. They are two beloved figures on the WWE roster and two younger names that have the potential to be stars in their own right. The solution should see Gable come out on top with his first run as a singles champion. Perhaps putting the WWE World Tag Team titles on The Creeds along the way. But all of that is said to lead to the moment where Breakker emerges as the top contender for Gable in late 2024 to early 2025. Setting the stage for Breakker to work with those three talented men would be another opportunity to continue building all four along the way.
WWE needs to take steps to refill its coffers of superstars. They still have a plethora of names in the men’s division, but as some of those get older or are out with injury it is never a bad idea to have backups ready to go. Bron Breakker is one of the young talents ready to step into a space if he’s given the time to mature into a performer who can maintain momentum for a long time.
