Rising second-generation star Bron Breaker is slated to face reigning Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn for his title at Money in the Bank. Most everyone believes Bron will be champion soon, but Bron Breakker should beat Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Championship right now. The match doesn't need to be on a big stage like SummerSlam, nor does it need to be a series of matches between a formidable challenger and a tough champion. One match in which Bron Breakker overpowers Zayn in a reasonable amount of time is all WWE needs to book. Anything more than that with these two would actually have a negative effect on what Bron has been doing. For the sake of Breakker and Sami Zayn, WWE needs to make this happen in Toronto on July 6th.

Bron Breakker is Gunther's true heir apparent.

Sami Zayn beating Gunther was a feel-good moment on WrestleMania, which was full of happy endings. He has since been a fighting champion and brought his star power even higher in the process. Still, for as good as Zayn has been, something is missing. His matches are excellent, and his charter work as the passionate people's champion on Raw is very compelling, especially with Cody over on Smackdown now. He hasn't, though, begun to touch the work that Gunther did. That, though, is because Zayn isn't meant to be the next great Intercontinental Champion. In every way imaginable, the next, even improved, iteration of Gunther has already emerged in Bron Breakker.

Since arriving on Raw in the draft, Bron Breakker has been an absolute beast. Each match is raw, pun intended. He mixes skill with power at just 26 years old, and he has nowhere to go but up. He can do that by winning the title from Zayn and going on his own Gunther-like reign as champion. That will ultimately lead to his making a new star or a big moment when somebody finally bests the dominant rookie. It will also allow Breakker to follow even further into the ring general's footsteps with a future run as world champion.

Sami Zayn has a wrestling Bloodline to save now.

Bron Breakker should beat Sami Zayn of the Intercontinental Championship because Zayn is going to get busy after the summer air cools and WWE heads toward the Survivor Series premium live event. The shocking expulsion of Paul Heyman from Solo Sikoa's Bloodline has set in motion a battle between the old guard and the new. Roman Reign's will need to rebuild his most significant creation to take out his greatest mistake. That will bring us to the final chapter of The Bloodline Civil War. His army will require him to find a fourth member of The Bloodline to aid him. That member will be Sami Zayn.

Bron is still new enough that his time is best spent on simple wrestling troupes. The unbeatable champion with an underdog challenger, the cocky rookie against a crafty veteran, or even the unstoppable force meeting the immovable object is where Breakker is currently. He has also done these stories well thus far, and they have always been big hits with Wrestling audiences. Getting Sami, with a much more in-depth character and elevated performance ability, out of that cycle and into the newer, more entertaining "cinematic" storylines should be a priority. Using both guys to their fullest potential requires Bron to be an effective mid-card champion and Zayn, a key player in the Bloodline saga.

All of WWE's titles are sitting on "Main Event" talent.

The world titles should always sit on the talents who have established themselves in WWE. That doesn't mean they can't be new stars, but they need to have really developed into the kind of must-see attraction with a track record in the big-time moments. Right now, the top titleholders in Cody Rhodes and Damian Priest have certainly done that. Interestingly, though, so have the mid-card champions in Logan Paul and, of course, Sami Zayn. Zayn is one of the biggest names on the WWE roster. He has been in the main event of WrestleMania and participated in some of the current era's most entertaining matches, consistently delivering. The world titles are for stars to draw fan interest, the others are meant to build the next generation.

Bron Breakker should beat Sami Zayn for the Intercontinental Championship now while he is on a hot streak. The win looks pretty plausible, and working with Zayn will be a real test for Raw's aggressive rookie. It also puts the title back where it belongs, on a rising star. Bron Breakker can grow as champion, Sami Zayn can't. Investing in Bron means giving him opportunities. Sami, being the Intercontinental Champion, feels below his current status and puts everyone in a weird spot as the reign grows longer. Bron is ready now; fans are prepared for something new, so a change should come as soon as possible.

Bron Breakker Should Beat Sami Zayn to build a new star.

One win will rarely create a new star. Luckily, Bron's star status is nearly cemented, and winning the title convincingly off one of WWE's top faces is the exact next step to continue his rise. He can become the unbeatable monster, a formula we have seen will work. He has also worked with both faces and heels already, so he adds something that Gunther never did: indiscriminate destruction. The midcard championships roles have been well defined over the last decade, and the Intercontinental title has been best booked on dominant fighting heel champions. Getting Sami his WrestleMania moment was necessary, as was cementing his reign to ensure his next trip to the main event of Raw or Smackdown is one-way only. WWE has done that, with Zayn being one of Raw's best faces. Ahead of a likely Bloodline redux that starts with a Kevin Owens reunion, Sami has to secure the future, Raw's next big thing. That thing is Bron, and the future is July 6th.
