WWE Bad Blood is a few hours away and there are several matches worth watching. One of those that has the attention of fans is the battle between Nia Jax and Bayley for the WWE Women’s Championship. The reason isn’t tied directly to the battle between the two women, but more because of Tiffany Stratton looming in the background with the Money in the Bank briefcase. While the focus may be there, it is also important to praise Nia Jax for her latest run in WWE as she’s not only done the best work of her career but some of the best in the women’s division as of late.

Nia Jax’s WWE run has been a tale of two stories. On the one hand, fans frequently disliked her because of the strong booking she received and the perceived “dangerous” nature of her in-ring performances, whether the criticisms were warranted or not. When Jax was released in November of 2021, fans reacted in a way that was completely different from that of any other wrestler that was cut during that same time. It didn’t seem like Jax would be returning to professional wrestling at all, but thankfully, that would not be the case.

Since returning in 2023, Jax has been a force in the women’s division. Since coming back she’s lost only 9 times in total. Diving deeper into those numbers, she’s only suffered three singles defeats, all of which came this year and in big matches with stakes. Liv Morgan, Rhea Ripley, and Becky Lynch are the only ladies to get their hands raised against the current champion.

Since winning the title, Jax has done an exceptional job leaning into her character of the bully but doing so with wrinkles to her delivery. She’s an interesting character beyond just being a giant compared to her peers in the ring. Plus, she looks amazing every time she appears as the champion, exuding the look that one should have when holding the title.

Jax will lose the title to Stratton at some point. The story being told is that Jax is going to continue to bully Stratton in a way that makes her turn on the champion, cash in the briefcase, and pick up the victory. That’s the way these stories go. Stratton is the “who’s next” in the WWE women’s division. The company is ready to crown the young performer and see if she continues her meteoric rise on the roster.

To get there, she’s going to defeat Nia Jax, but that doesn’t denigrate the work that Jax has done since coming back to WWE. She’s given this group some great work and deserves to be praised for the entire run.
