Reports: Bayley has signed a new multiyear deal with WWE
By Simon Hannig
WWE Superstar Bayley has signed a new multiyear deal to stay with the company, PW Insider and Fightful Select (subscription required) have reported. This comes on days after the report that WWE Superstar Charlotte Flair also signed a new multiyear deal with the company.
Fightful Select also reported that the WWE is locking down on signing high-level talent to long-term contracts. Multiple WWE superstars' contracts are expiring sometime in 2024, including Becky Lynch.
Bayley has been a fixture on WWE television for years and will be for years to come. Since her return to WWE at SummerSlam in 2022 following a knee injury, she has helped elevate the women's roster and has put multiple wrestlers over. She is currently in Damage CTRL, which one can argue is one of the best factions in WWE currently.
With her signing a new deal with the company, it will be interesting to see where the creative plans will go from here. It looks like she is losing control a bit with Damage CTRL, and the rest of the group could be turning on her soon.
Bayley has been a heel since 2019 and could be in play for a babyface turn in 2024 if the rest of Damage Control does indeed betray her.
If Bayley does return as a babyface sometime in the new year, one has to wonder if she will bring back the "hugger" persona, or if it will be another character transformation for Bayley. Either way, Bayley is going to play a huge vital role in the women's division not only in the new year but for years to come. She brings tremendous value as a utility star who can be a world title contender and a veteran who puts over the younger talent.
Daily DDT has reached out to WWE for comment on the reports, but they have not responded.
