WWE: Sami Zayn Will LOSE His Championship To Chad Gable

Sami Zayn won his third Intercontinental Title from Gunther at WrestleMania 40 in April, ending a historic 666-Day Title Reign. Sami Zayn did not really need another IC Title victory, as he is already well suited for the main event scene. A MITB victory in his home country of Canada this year would do wonders for his career and lead him to his first World Championship. However, a MITB victory would be more plausible if he loses the IC Title before MITB in July. Now that he already has 1 PPV title defense under his belt, it is time to think about who could dethrone him this summer.

With that being said, the following will focus on the three top contestants to dethrone Sami Zayn on the road to WWE SummerSlam 2024.

Dark Horse: Bron Breakker

Bron Breakker has been begging Adam Pearce for an opportunity ever since he left him out of the KOTR Tournament. Since Breakker just arrived to the main roster and does not yet have the credibility for a World Title Shot, an IC Title opportunity against Sami Zayn could do him justice.

(3) Bronson Reed

Bronson Reed has the most momentum out of anyone in the mid-card on Raw, especially since he won the Andre The Giant Battle Royal and has been on a dominant winning streak since that victory. With the exception of his pinfall loss to Zayn in their title match, he still has a strong claim for the title.

(2) Sheamus

Sheamus does not necessarily have anything to do with Sami Zayn right now, but he does have some stat padding to take care of in his career. Indeed, the only championship that had eluded his career is the Intercontinental Championship. As long as he wins that title, he will achieve his Grand Slam.

(1) Chad Gable

Chad Gable has the best story to dethrone Sami Zayn, especially since his heel turn has done wonders for his career and led to some compelling segments with Alpha Academy. In order to solidify that heel turn and give this heel run its well-deserved payoff, Gable will be the one to end this reign.
