The Wyatt Sicks taking taking out The Miz makes perfect sense
The Wyatt Sicks have found their next target. The Miz is firmly in the crosshairs of Uncle Howdy and the crew. After the first weeks of hinting at who was next in the crosshairs, the group kidnapped the multiple-time champion in a backstage segment. This is an interesting development for the group and one that makes sense from a long-term standpoint.
The video of Miz’s kidnapping showed a callback to when The Miz took Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel under his wing as The Miztourage. Of course, they were his lackies, taking all the big bumps while helping The Miz get victories along the way. The group would be together for a year, until April of 2018 when Dallas and Axel finally got enough of The Miz, taking him out.
The Miz has a long history of turning on the people he claims to be his “friends.” Dallas and Axel are just two of the names from his past, with R-Truth being the most recent victim. The Wyatt Sicks have made it clear they are hunting down anyone who shuns their family and friends. Their introduction vignettes showed why each of them treasures the relationships they’ve formed in wrestling. Thus, giving them cause to take on the heels that do the opposite. First, it was Chad Gable. And now it’s’ The Miz.
Another reason why this is an intriguing development is because it keeps the Wyatt Sicks moving toward an eventual face-off with The Final Testament. Karrion Kross is seemingly turning a corner as the backstage agitator behind several major breakups of late. If he continues down that path, it is just a matter of time before these two groups face off. They’ve already had one skirmish, but that was for Howdy and crew to get their hands on The Miz. Kross isn’t safe though and he would be a fantastic “big bad” for the group.
WWE is doing a solid job creating intriguing angles for The Wyatt Sicks, while keeping them far enough away from the championship scene. At some point, these individuals may find themselves in the title picture, but there’s the challenge of making it make sense for a faction that is seemingly bent on causing carnage. Taking out The Miz allows them to further their narrative, while engaging with a performer who is constantly on television. It’s the right move for the group at this time.
