As AEW continues to work on expanding the scope of its women's division on television, here are three names that will join the top of the card in 2025.

AEW's women's division has been a point of contention over the past several years. Despite having a talented roster, the women's division has struggled to get the adequate amount of television time needed to push the division forward in a meaningful way.

The company has signed several free agents, which has generated excitement in the division. They have had some big wins with the additions of Mercedes Mone, Toni Storm, and Mariah May. However, they also failed to capitalize on signing talented performers like Deonna Purrazzo, Kamille, Saraya, and Ruby Soho because of questionable booking.

AEW has also had some bad luck along the way. Jaime Hayter and Julia Hart both suffered injuries at the height of their popularity and were both out of action for a lengthy period of time. Britt Baker is missing in action as rumors of backstage heat swirl. And for some reason, until recently, Athena was only used in Ring of Honor, not AEW.

Among all the inconsistent booking, injuries, and alleged backstage drama, there have also been a few performers whose recent performances have shown that they have the potential to become main event players in 2025

Harley Cameron

Harley Cameron has come a long way in a short time in AEW. Cameron got her start in AEW in the much-maligned QTV segments and has since evolved to getting a shot at Mercedes Mone for the TBS Title in her home country of Australia.

The brilliance of Harley Cameron right now is her ability to entertain the audience in a variety of ways. In addition to her ability to wrestle, which gets better and better with each passing week, Cameron is also a talented singer, guitar player, and ventriloquist. Cameron has very good comedic timing and is naturally funny. The combination of all these talents gives AEW a lot of different ways to keep Cameron involved while she continues to hone her skills in the ring.

Cameron's ability to excel in so many different ways bodes well for the future of her wrestling career. It shows that she is not afraid of hard work, and if she continues to work as hard at her in-ring craft as she has worked at all the things that are currently making her a fan favorite, then the sky is the limit for Harley Cameron.

Queen Aminata

Queen Aminata has been competing in AEW since the days when AEW Dark was a thing. Aminata started out as an enhancement talent before working her way up to a promising young contender in the women's division.

Aminata just finished up an excellent set of matches with another promising young star, Julia Hart. And while Aminata came up short in the rubber match, she continues to show excellent ability inside the ring. She is also involved in a story with Serena Deeb, where Deeb is trying to be a mentor to Aminata, but Aminata has not been receptive to Deeb's offer.

Whether Aminata ends up succumbing to Deeb's request or they end up opposing each other in the ring, working with Deeb should be a stepping stone to the next level for Aminata, and she will most likely be winning high profile matches by the end of the calendar year.

Marina Shafir

While the story of Jon Moxley and the Death Riders taking over AEW has fallen flat after a hot start, the best thing to come out of this storyline is the establishment of Marina Shafir as a bonafide threat in the AEW women's division. The most interesting thing about Shafir's rise is that she has done so without a match and with very few words spoken.

Shafir's main job since the introduction of the Death Riders has simply been to protect both the briefcase that supposedly holds the AEW World Title as well as protect the back of Jon Moxley. And Shafir has done a great job at both of those tasks.

Shafir will get back into the ring on this week's AEW Dynamite when she tags with Jon Moxley to take on Willow Nightingale and Swerve Strickland. This could lead to a singles match between Shafir and Nightingale at AEW Dynasty on April 6th. If it does, and Shafir wins, she could go after the AEW Women's Title in the not-too-distant future, as she is currently the only member of the Death Riders who is not carrying gold.
