WWE Hall of Fame 2016: Full Inductee List

Looking at the full list of Inductees in the 2016 WWE Hall of Fame Class.
The 2016 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony takes place live on the WWE Network tonight. This year’s Class sees the inductions of 7 individuals, one legendary group, and the presentation of the Warrior Award to one inspirational woman.
Here we introduce you to the men and women who are the 2016 WWE Hall of Fame Induction Class.

Sting – Six-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion, Two-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion, Two-time WCW United States Heavyweight Champion and Three-time WCW World Tag Team Champion. One of the few men who put up some resistance to the WWF juggernaut during his days as an iconic performer for WCW in the 1990’s and early 2000’s. His two matches inside a WWE ring saw him face Triple H at WrestleMania 31 and Seth Rollins for the WWF Championship at Night of Champions 2015. Regarded by many as one of the greatest professional wrestlers of all time, Sting had legendary feuds with Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan/NWO during one of the hottest periods in wrestling history. He will be inducted by two-time Hall of Famer Ric Flair.
The Godfather – One-time WWF Intercontinental Champion, One-time WWF Tag Team Champion. Possibly one of the greatest characters of the Attitude Era, The Godfather was the man who made it acceptable to proclaim “Pimpin’ Ain’t Easy” at live events around the world. A man who had several gimmicks in the WWF, it wasn’t until he struck upon The Godfather character that Charles Wright hit the jackpot. As well as his character, his charisma, likability and in ring ability made him one of the loved men in the WWF during the companies hottest period ever. He will be inducted by the APA (John “Bradshaw” Layfield and Ron Simmons).

The Fabulous Freebirds – Michael Hayes, Terry Gordy, Buddy Roberts and Jimmy Garvin. Two-time WCW World Tag Team Champions, two-time WCW U.S. Tag Team Champions, one-time WCW 6-Man Tag Team Champions, holders of tag team titles all across the United States. The most important team in the history of wrestling, credited with creating the “Freebird Rule” where any of the team members could defend their tag team titles, as well as being the men who popularised the use of ring entrance music in the early 1980’s. The importance of the Freebirds is so high that many of the things they made famous are still popular today. Terry Gordy and Buddy Roberts will be inducted posthumously. The team will be inducted by The New Day.
Big Bossman – Four-time WWF Hardcore Champion, one-time WWF Tag Team Champion. An integral part of both the Corporation and the Corporate Ministry during the Attitude Era. One of the quickest and most agile big men you’ll ever see inside the wrestling ring, he also made use of his trusty nightstick and handcuffs on regular occasions. He made his WWF debut in the late 1980’s, managed by the man who will posthumously induct him, Slick. He starred in WCW before returning to the WWF in 1998 to have a big role in the Attitude Era.
Jacqueline – Two-time WWF Women’s Champion, one-time WWE Cruiserweight Champion. A woman who blazed a trail for women in the WWF in the late 90’s. Making her WWF debut in 1998, she aided Mark Mero in his feud with Sable, beating Sable for the Women’s Championship. A tough competitor who also served as a trainer on the first season of Tough Enough and served as a referee on occasion. She will be inducted by her good friends the Dudley Boys in her hometown of Dallas.

Stan Hansen – One-time AWA World Heavyweight Champion, one-time NWA United States Heavyweight Champion. A man who was famous across the United States, before becoming a megastar in Japan, Hansen was a cowboy who was, in the words of good old JR, “a double tough son of a gun”. He made the Lariat as famous as his customary bull rope, and defended titles in both America and Japan, he truly deserves a spot in the Hall of Fame. The son of Borger, Texas, will be inducted by his former opponent Vader.
Snoop Dogg – This years entrant into the Celebrity Wing of the Hall of Fame has a history of appearing on the grandest stage of them all. He hosted the Playboy BunnyMania Lumberjill match at WrestleMania XXIV, as well as being the host of Raw on several occasions. Outside of WWE, he is one of the highest selling hip hop artists ever, has won numerous awards for his music and will be cheering on his cousin, WWE Diva Sasha Banks on WrestleMania night as well.

Joan Lunden – The second recipient of the Warrior Award, the award given in honour of The Ultimate Warrior and presented by his wife Dana Warrior. An Award-winning journalist, best-selling author and cancer survivor, who in June 2014, was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer. She required chemotherapy, surgery, and radiation treatment. Rather than keeping her illness hidden she made it public and has shared her battle with cancer, becoming a prominent voice in the breast cancer community. It is that spirit and drive to overcome her cancer that has seen her awarded this prestigious award.
