For months, the rumor has been that Brock Lesnar will face Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 31 for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. This would also mean that Reigns would win this Sunday’s Royal Rumble for that opportunity.

Ever since this rumor came out, it has sparked a lot of debate among the wrestling media and the WWE Universe. Everyone is asking the simple question of if Roman Reigns is ready to headline WrestleMania?

Chris Jericho, who is currently only working live events for WWE, weighed in on the topic recently in an interview with Digital Spy.

"“I think Roman’s doing great, I think there’s a lot of guys doing great, but it all depends on the reaction of the fans and I think right now the next two or three weeks are crucial to see what kind of reaction these guys get and that will decide where they are going to be slotted in WrestleMania. They’re listening to what the crowd is reacting to, and then deciding from there.“If Roman Reigns is getting a great crowd reaction, then there’s a great chance he’s going to get more and more of a push – that’s how things go. I think they probably have a tentative plan already for the top three or four matches at WrestleMania, now they just have to see if the pieces continue to fall into place.”"

As of now, Reigns is getting a decent crowd reaction. It is not what Daniel Bryan and John Cena are receiving and Dean Ambrose arguably receives a bigger pop than him. However, the former Shield member is improving on the microphone. His promos, while not scripted overly well, are sounding much better than they did prior to his injury. During Reigns’ time off, he took acting lessons with Howard Fine, who is an acting teacher.

Regarding Reigns in the ring, it is still unknown if he can work a twenty-plus minute match. The longest match we have seen him work was against Randy Orton at SummerSlam this past August. Orton carried most of that match until Reigns got in his brief offense at the end and won. He has been making strides over the past month, but we won’t know if it will be enough until he has his WrestleMania match, whether it’s for the title or not.

As of now, do you think that Roman Reigns is ready to headline WrestleMania?
