After last night’s Monday Night Raw, a live edition of the Stone Cold Steve Austin Podcast took place on the WWE Network. Austin’s guest was WWE COO Triple H. It was a great interview that lasted over an hour and revealed a lot. Here’s some of the highlights below.
Early on in the podcast, the “Reality Era” was brought up. Triple H said that this is what this period of time is deemed as because of everything that is out there today online. He said that it isn’t like it was in the 90’s, when the dirt sheets didn’t have that much on them. Obviously, sites like Daily DDT are the reason for this. It’s just the way that the media has evolved over time.
There was a lot of talk of NXT during this interview since Triple H is the head of it down in Florida. He brought up how the NXT promos aren’t very scripted, which is why they come off so well to everyone. In the WWE promos, we see plenty of them drag and cause the fans to lose interest. It seems like the only reason why the WWE promos are so long is because of the three hours that Monday Night Raw lasts.
Speaking of Raw, HHH said that he would want a two-hour show because a three-hour show is very hard to write for. I was very surprised with this answer, as no one currently affiliated with WWE has spoke out about this before. Most people out there would love for an hour of the show to be cut out, but it seems unlikely.
Perhaps the most sensitive topic that was discussed during the live podcast was if Chyna should go into the WWE Hall of Fame. Triple H praised her and said that she should be in the HOF. However, it seems like the Ninth Wonder of the World is not in it because of the adult films that she has been doing. The Game alluded to the fact that 8-year-olds will go online, look up her bio and see it (without mentioning what she does). It seems like WWE would be worried about hurting its image in any way with having Chyna in the HOF.

Another interesting talking point was the Brock Lesnar contract situation. As many know by now, his contract his up the night after WrestleMania 31. There have been rumors of Lesnar possibly returning to UFC or going to Bellator MMA once his deal is up. However, Triple H said that they have been talking to the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, but the decision will ultimately be up for him. I get the feeling that he will stay with the company because of how easy he has it. We won’t know this answer for about two more months, though.
One of the final topics of the interview was Triple H addressing that he wants the main roster women to get more time. The NXT women get more than enough time to show off their skills and it has gotten them over with the crowds. It will be tough to do with these current main roster Divas because of how poorly they are booked. It has led to the fans not caring about any of their matches. Take a look at Paige, who debuted the night after WrestleMania XXX last year. She was hot and got over with the crowd fast. After that, her booking was horrendous and she eventually fell into the pool of Divas who no one cares about, which is about 95% of them.
