If The Undertaker returns next week, what’s the game plan for WWE?

Bray Wyatt needs the Undertaker to return on next week’s Raw more than he ever has.

Over the last couple of weeks the WWE audience has seen Wyatt go to new extremes to provoke The Undertaker to return for a match at WrestleMania. It was at WWE Fastlane when Wyatt came to the ring posing as The Deadman. Now, a few weeks later, it seems that Wyatt is pushing the limits.

On Monday’s Raw, he set fire to a casket that he claimed to have made for The Undertaker.

And then there’s his most recent promo from last night’s Smackdown where he claimed to have something that The Deadman could relate to. “I will unleash its spirit,” said Wyatt in the promo. “Because not even you can outrun your own fate.”

These promos have all been great and have left viewers wanting more, but Wyatt can only do so much on his own.

If The Undertaker doesn’t return soon enough, Bray will be left with the challenge of keeping the audience interested without having his opponent respond. Yes, he’s the guy to do it, but it’s only a matter of time before his promos become stale and he suffers because of it.

There could be a variety of reasons why The Undertaker hasn’t returned yet. For one, there are five weeks between Fastlane and WrestleMania. That’s a big space to fill for this feud. The return of The Deadman needs to be timed perfectly in order for the stroyline to work. Unfortunately for Wyatt, there’s been one too many weeks in the schedule to fill.

It’s expected that, when he returns (which should be within the next two weeks), The Undertaker will do his usual promo where he comes to the ring, has a stare off with his upcoming opponent and then points to the WrestleMania sign. This is great and it builds up a lot of hype. It also gives WWE a week to let his return breathe.

If that’s one week, what’s next? It’ll likely be up to Wyatt to do a promo saying he’s not afraid of The Deadman. Then, as we’ve seen before, the lights will go out and The Undertaker will appear behind Wyatt. He will likely give into The Deadman’s hype by dropping to his knees and welcoming whatever is next. To extend the promo another week, the arena could go dark and The Undertaker could disappear.

So, that leaves the storyline with one more Raw (assuming The Undertaker returns on Monday). What would be the last promo? Well this could all lend itself to a WWE promo video featuring the two sides. Their absences will build even more hype and allow the match a week to breathe.

All in all, these are great promos and have worked year after year for WWE but the unique storyline is that Bray Wyatt isn’t any ordinary wrestler; he is the new face of dark and wicked within WWE. That’s the element that will keep many fans tuned into these promos week after week.

The clocks ticking, when will The Undertaker save Wyatt’s character?
